Cats and dogs rely upon us for more than food and shelter. How we treat them has a huge impact on their well-being. It’s vital that caregivers understand dog and cat body language, how to train them and provide for their behavioural needs, and transport them safely. Using appropriate techniques and ensuring that we provide the necessary physical conditions that ensure a cat or dogs’ comfort and safety are a good start. Doing so can help ensure the safety of both you and your pet.
Activity 4.3 – Reflection
Take a few minutes and reflect on what you have learned in this module. In the Module 4 booklet, answer the following questions: What are the warning signs of a cat or dog showing stress and how would you respond? What are some measures you should take to minimize the risks and hazards of handling animals? What do you need to consider in order to safely transport a dog or cat?
- When you are finished with this activity (the final one for this module), save the PDF to your course folder.
- Upload your completed file using the upload tool below. (HINT: see the Activities video if you need a refresher on how to use the upload tool.)
