Module 5 was a lengthy module. Training and riding horses is complex and there are many factors to consider including tack, training tools, natural and artificial riding aids, and rider influence. Through this module, you had opportunities to analyze, demonstrate, and reflect on each aspect of riding. You have also practiced ways to visualize positive outcomes and set goals for yourself in riding, which is beneficial for both you and your horse.
Activity 5.3 – Reflection
Reflect on the following questions:
Why do horse riding skills involve the use and release of pressure as the primary means of communication?
How do both natural and artificial training aids help you communicate effectively with your horse?
Note that this is a graded activity. A grading rubric is provided with the activity.
