As you have seen in this module, there are a number of legal provisions and enforcement organizations dedicated to the protection and welfare of animals. Unfortunately, as you also have seen from the Alberta SPCA website, abuse and neglect can and still does take place. Hopefully this module has helped you understand what protections are in place, and how to obtain help for animals in distress.
