In this module, we considered the many factors that contribute to a healthy housing design including stables, turnout, and fencing. This knowledge was applied by identifying and analyzing essential aspects of horse housing. We also learned about appropriate bedding and how to maintain a safe and healthy environment that helps provide good welfare for Equines.

Now that you have identified important features of appropriate horse housing and analyzed an existing setup, reflect on why this is important for horse welfare. Why must horse owners take daily responsibility for maintaining their horse’s living space?
