Module Summary

In this module, we explored the roles one can take in terms of a career working with horses. We considered different perspectives on animal welfare and the legislation that governs horse care in Alberta. Finally, we addressed responsible horse care that ensures good welfare for the horse.

Activity 1.3 – Reflection

To complete the module, take a few minutes to reflect on what you have learned by following the directions below.


  1. Open the copy of the activities booklet for this module which you saved on your computer at the beginning of the module.
  2. Scroll down to the “Reflection” activity in the booklet.
  3. Enter your thoughts on the following:

Describe the legislation in place to protect the welfare of animals (including horses). Who would you call if you had a concern?
